Forget ordinary executive saloons. This is the Jaguar XFR a car from the era when Jaguar decided that a luxury sports saloon should have a 5.0 litre Supercharged V8 hiding under the bonnet.

And then there is the engine…5.0 LITRES. V8. SUPERCHARGED. 510PS and 625 Nm with the kind of instant torque that turns this elegant Jaguar into an absolute missile.

But the numbers are only half the story.
The XFR was Jaguar showing the world that a luxury saloon could take on the established German performance giants while still retaining that unmistakable British character.

And here’s where the story gets even more interesting…

FROM XFR TO PROJECT 8. The XFR belongs to the same performance bred Jaguar lineage that ultimately produced the outrageous Jaguar XE SV Project 8 one of the most extreme road going Jaguars ever built.

Project 8 took Jaguar’s performance philosophy to another level: more power, more aggression, wider bodywork and track-focused engineering.

The XFR is from the era that helped establish that supercharged V8 performance DNA. Think of it as the civilised Supercat before Jaguar went completely feral.

This is the kind of car that makes modern performance cars feel almost too predictable.
